Welcome to the Organization of Women Writers of Africa,Inc (OWWA)

OWWA is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1991. Our fous is in the promotion of greater interest in the oral and written literature of African women, introduction of emerging writers to the public, and the addressing of challenges relating to translations, publishing, distribution, censorship, new technology, cultural policy, democrary and human progresss.

We have recently re-lauched our web site and want to call your attention to one of its most exciting features. We have establlished a message area or forum called "The Drum" we hope that the women writers of the Diaspora will use this facility to have a world-wide dialog about the literature, culture and the challeges facing African peoples.
